A Message From the Founder

The first 10 years of Hope of the Valley have been nothing less than remarkable. With humble beginnings, starting in an under-utilized church in North Hollywood, we have expanded to 10 site locations providing over 250,000 meals and 75,000 nights of shelter annually!

On Saturday August 24th at Bishop Alemany Alumni Hall in Mission Hills, volunteers, donors and partners will gather together to celebrate the past 10 years and anticipate the next 10 years!

Hope of the Valley would not exist without the incredible support of the community. Over 43,000 people have contributed to our success. It is my sincere hope that you will join a stellar list of community sponsors and lend your corporate support to Hope of the Valley as we join together for our Decade of Hope Gala!

Our History

2010

Moved to a 26,000 sf facility in Sun Valley and began providing showers, life-skills classes, and case management.

Opened John E. White House of Hope recovery program for men in Arleta.

2011
2012

Opened Genesis House, a 30-bed facility in Pacoima for homeless families.
HOTV opened its first social enterprise Thrift Store in Granada Hills.

Opened the BRIDGE, a 17-bed transitional housing facility for men in Canoga Park.

2013
2014

Took over operation of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority's Cold Weather Shelters in Pacoima and Sylmar with a total of 290 beds.
HOTV opened its second social enterprise Thrift Store in Santa Clarita.

Relocated our homeless services to Van Nuys, expanded services ad named the program the HELP Center.

2015
2016

Opened a 30-bed Recuperative Care Center in Mission Hills.
HOTV opened its third social enterprise Thrift Store in Simi Valley.

Transferred the Recuperative Care Center to Harbor Recuperative Care.

2017
2018

Converted the BRIDGE program to a 50-bed shelter for youth ages 18-24 in Burbank called The Landing.
Opened Shepherd's House, a 48-bed crisis housing program in the West San Fernando Valley for homeless families with children.
